Lincoln school officials get raises LINCOLN – Some admin- istrators in the Lincoln School Department will see raises, but not until after what's being described as a "budget freeze." School Committee Chairwoman Kristine Donabedian explained that several adminis- trators' contracts were approved, which included 1.75 percent increases in salaries, but those raises will be postponed until the Rhode Island General Assembly determines how much to fund state aid to education. The Assembly failed to enact a state budget for the fiscal year that began July 1, a budget that includes the local educational funding. Donabedian explained after Monday night's School Committee meeting that the board discussed how to "weather this impact" of uncertainty about state aid funding. "It's a very excit- ing time for those who cherish the Blackstone River Bikeway," said Megan DiPrete, executive direc- tor of Blackstone Heritage Corridor Inc., a nonprofit that works in partnership with the National Park Service to preserve and promote the Blackstone River Valley. The two-state region was named a National Park in 2014, and BHC aims to continue devel- opment of long-term assets like the growing bike path. "The pieces are really beginning to come together," DiPrete said.
