The ordi- nance, made possible when the General Assembly passed enabling legislation earlier this year, requires any mas- sage parlors that don't have therapists licensed through the state to get a license from the city. See the ordinance with this story at www.valleybreeze.com . City Clerk Rick Goldstein said he expects letters to be sent out to "all the places we're aware of" just after Thanksgiving. Recipients will likely be given a few weeks to apply for the licenses if they need them and will then have to come before the City Council to get them approved. "The licensing itself will probably be in January," said Goldstein. Any establishment that stays open without getting properly licensed will be subject to all available law enforce- ment measures at the city's disposal.
