LIVING A Valley Breeze Newspaper Breeze THE NORTH PROVIDENCE FREE valleybreeze.com @ NOVEMBER 9-15, 2016 NORTH PROVIDENCE – A new cell phone store is expected to open next year at the former Spardello's Men's Clothiers property across from Jacky's Galaxie on Mineral Spring Avenue. Kathi DeGrande, district manager for indirect distribution for Verizon Wireless, told The Breeze that Cellular Sales, an agent of Verizon Wireless based in Knoxville, Tenn., is slated to open at 1483 Mineral Spring Ave. in late 2017. The Breeze reported in November of 2014 that the North Providence Planning Board had given town devel- oper Joseph Iaciofano conditional master plan approval for a major land development at the property. Iaciofano said at the time that two companies were inquiring about com- ing to the property, and neither was a restaurant. Iaciofano did not respond to requests for comment. Heavy machinery was seen on the property over the past few days. Town Planner David Westcott said the former plan to tear down the build- ing was apparently scrapped after the Planning Board approved a demolition and reconstruction plan. A contractor is now doing facade improvements, which do not require board approval, and is looking to repave the lot, said Westcott.
