CUMBERLAND – Seven
people will make up the town's
brand-new Cumberland Fire
Committee – one from each of
the five Town Council districts
and two representing the entire
town as at-large members.
This is a mature group of citi-

And all but two – Frank Matta
and Gene Sartini – have either
served in the fire service indus-
try or on an elected fire board.
The seven members, running
without party affiliation, will
take over for the four district
boards immediately after their
election is certified with a long

sentatives who've been meeting
to lay some groundwork that
the new committee may or may
not adopt.
The group will inherit what
