BREEZE PHOTO BY ROBERT EMERSON Goal with stadium parking plan: Minimize neighborhood impact By ETHAN SHOREY Valley Breeze Editor ethan@valleybreeze.com PAWTUCKET – Future stadium parking continues to be a looming source of concern for residents in the neighborhood of the in-progress Tidewater Landing project, but city offi cials say there's plenty of time to get the plan right. The soccer stadium won't be ready until the 2025 season, offi cials emphasize, and there's a plan in place to have both short-term and long- term parking solutions ready to go by then. Roger Theroux of Mulberry Street, six streets over from Taft Street where the stadium will be located, said he recently had a conversation with Mayor Donald Grebien where Grebien stated that now that the sta- dium project is back on track, offi cials can start looking at parking. "I thought this project and all the money that had been discussed would be the package," he said. "Well they discussed parking, but that was it." He suggested that additional money will be needed so the city can rede- sign streets for better access as well as buy up property to obtain the neces- sary parking, taking property off the Co ee shop coming to Esten Avenue in Pawtucket By ETHAN SHOREY Valley Breeze Editor ethan@valleybreeze.com PAWTUCKET – A new coffee shop is coming to Esten Avenue, a rapidly transforming neighbor- hood with several growing or new businesses and hundreds of newer residential units. Hazel Origin Coffee is getting set to open at 245 Esten Ave., in the space previously occupied by the Juventude Social Club of Rhode Island. Dulce Esmeralda Lopez, com- mercial manager for Hazel Origin Coffee, said it will be open by Sept. 15. The coffee importer and coffee shop is now hiring, with no experi- ence in coffee needed.
