Gardeners can bring one cup of dry soil from each area of garden or lawn, in separate cups, to test the pH levels and texture. Donate gently used clothing, shoes, accessories, bedding, towels, curtains and throw pillows. Items can be placed in 33-gallon trash bags and brought to the environmental center at 100 New River Road, in Lincoln, where some- one will be on hand to collect the items. Also on Saturday, June 23. Funds raised, based on the total weight of donated items, will support river clean-up efforts, outreach and educational programs. EMBASSY OF CHRIST CHURCH FOOD PANTRY – open every third Saturday of the month at the church, 649 Woonasquatucket Ave., North Providence. 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. HISTORICAL WOONSOCKET WALKING TOUR – The Museum of Work & Culture offers walking tours of historic Woonsocket each Saturday at 10 a.m. through Aug. 25. Guides will lead groups along the banks of the Blackstone and Main Street. Tours are $8 for adults and $6 for students and seniors. The tours are free for children under 10 with a paid adult admission. All participants will also receive complimentary admission to the museum. Groups are limited to 15. OPEN HOUSE – Travel back 150 years to get a glimpse of Lincoln's early education and house of worship when two historic sites along Great Road, Lincoln, open their doors between 10 a.m. and noon. Recommended visits are ½ hour each. Admission is free, but donations are welcomed. The Pullen's Corner Schoolhouse is located next to the new Visitors Center at Chase Farm Park, 671 Great Road. The Saylesville Friends Meetinghouse is located at 374 Great Road. VETERANS MEMORIAL MUSEUM – is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The museum is located at 78 Earle St., Woonsocket. Admission is free for veterans and students. Call 401-222-9025. RAPTOR PHOTO SHOOT WITH AUDUBON – at the Audubon Powder Mill Ledges Wildlife Refuge, 12 Sanderson Road, Smithfield. Bring your camera and take advantage of this special opportunity to get up close with a great horned owl, an American kestrel, a red-tailed hawk, and a barred owl. Space is limited.
