6 Dr. Angie Felix is a woman of faith, and she admits her Christian beliefs to be the source of her ethical business core values, and professionalism. She has served in mis- sion trips in Africa and Latin America. Dr. Felix is now the Clinical Director at the Good Shepherd Dental Care, located at The Providence Rescue Mission, where she has served for the past 10 years. The mission is a faith-based, 100% privately funded non-profit organization that has been offering free dental care to the poor for the past 15 years. The mission serves people who are trying to move on from homelessness, unemployment and drug addiction into a fully restored, independent life by providing free restorative dental care. As a Christian organization The Providence Rescue Mission believes that providing spiritual and physi- cal help go hand in hand to facilitate this transition. As an active member of the Rhode Island Dental Association, Dr. Felix has represented our community by volunteering at the Mission Clinic for the past 8 years. She states, "It has been a privilege to carry the means for serv- ing the local communities, and to help alleviate poverty and dental access inequality. I am convinced that promoting Public Oral Health is critical to improve the quality of life of the less privileged in Rhode Island." Recently, Dr. Felix has also joined forces with another organization to help the hurting people in Guatemala. Hope of Life International is a Christian organization that provides spiritual and physical aid to those in need. Their goal is to help victims of poverty, natural disasters, disease, and starvation alleviating their pain and suffering by sharing the love of God. Her team of 20 is currently planning for their 5th Dental mission trip to Guatemala. She says, "This is a way we give back to the less privileged communities overseas." "Every patient at Dental Associates of Cumberland is part of these efforts. Thanks to their support and loyalty, I am able to Pay it forward by adding value to each person, with a smile!" Dr. Angeles Felix graduated from Boston University School of Dental Medicine with an advanced degree in Restorative/Esthetic Dentistry.
