"It is a true honor to be sworn in as a new member of the Senate to represent a city that I believe in and love so much. I am eager to begin working for the people of District 8 at the Statehouse and fighting for more state aid to Pawtucket schools, improving services for our senior citizens, keeping property taxes down, attracting new businesses and expanding vital workforce training," said Cano. She is a former at-large councilwoman for the city of Pawtucket and a former member of the Pawtucket School Committee.
