16 2021 HEALTH & WELLNESS GUIDE | THE VALLEY BREEZE | MARCH 2021 Peace of mind. Isn't that really what you're looking for when a member of your family needs Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing Services? Isn't that what a couple is searching for when they decide "Maybe it's time for a little help with our daily lives"? What is it that makes The Villa at Saint Antoine "The ultimate in assisted living?" What do they do so well to deliver the peace of mind an older couple or family is searching for? It's the "Continuum of Care," according to Tammy Summiel, Administrator for the Villa at Saint Antoine Community. Our expansive list of supportive services begins with our Assisted Living Services at The Villa – and extends over to our short/long-term skilled nursing and rehabilitative care facility at Saint Antoine Residence. Both facilities are positioned only a few hundred feet from one another, on a quiet and wooded lot off Mendon Road in North Smithfield. This "continuum," says Summiel, allows for close contact between couples who may become separated over time. As one continues to live independently in the Villa, and the other develops a need for a higher level of nursing care, the close proximity allows for a seamless transition - where they can stay connected - yet have both their needs met separately. Of course, Villa residents are "first in line" should skilled or rehab care at Saint Antoine Residence be needed. "Our continuum has kept many couples, friends, and siblings together at Saint Antoine Community," says Tammy Summiel, Administrator for the Villa. "When the day comes, where additional help is needed, they can still be close by their loved one. The Villa offers the option of a daily shuttle service that arrives at The Residence every day at 1pm, as well as, a safe walking path that connects to the buildings for easy all-day access. "Assisted living is all-inclusive," according to Summiel. Provided for our guests are services including three daily meals in an elegant dining room, some personal care and aid, wellness and fitness programs, wi-fi and cable, laundry and housekeeping services, medicine administration, and transportation coordination. Saint Antoine Community is a Ministry of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence. There is Mass daily in both facilities, and communion is offered daily to residents cared for in the skilled nursing area who cannot attend Mass. Additional amenities offered at Saint Antoine Community include: Respite Care, Memory Care, and Short-term Rehabilitative care. Respite Care provides family caretakers the opportunity to vacation and/or travel, while an elderly loved stays safely at The Villa for a two- week (or longer) period. Memory Care in The Mezzanine at The Villa, offers a cozy and private environment where members who may be displaying the beginnings of dementia or occasional forgetfulness, can still live independently, with 24-hour supervision and aid. And for those in need of short-term rehabilitation, "Easy Street" Rehab Center at Saint Antoine, can offer a one-of-a kind rehab experience with real- life modules including apartments, city curbing, and ATM and automobiles for real-life practice.
