6 HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE 2020 | THE VALLEY BREEZE
Commit to local
this holiday season
Our local merchants need us more than ever this
holiday season. That's why I've made the commitment
on Twitter do every last bit of my Christmas shopping
this year with companies and people in our communi-
ties instead of sending my money to far-off places. The
campaign has developed a bit of a following from others
who are eager to do the same, and I hope you will also
consider joining in.
Admittedly, my wife is a bit nervous about how cre-
ative I might get here, but I've assured her that I'll come
through. It won't be easy to achieve 100 percent local
shopping, but I believe it's an important exercise and
one that that's proven to be quite fun in the past on a
more limited scale.
My go-to resource when it comes to finding local com-
panies to support is this Holiday Gift Guide, which is
always chock-full of fun ads marketing unique and fun
gift ideas. It's always one of our most popular offerings,
and our hope this year is that this popularity will trans-
late into widespread efforts to support local businesses.
If we're going to preach the importance of supporting
local businesses in our communities, why would we
abandon them at the most important time of the year?
The lingering impact of the pandemic only heightens the
urgency.
We hope this magazine will give you a bit of a head
start as you look to be thoughtful in your shopping
choices.
And if anyone has a fun gift idea that my wife might
like, hit me up.
