NOVEMBER 18-24, 2020 | VALLEY BREEZE & OBSERVER LIVING EDITION
BRT offers online concert with Newfoundland singer-songwriter Matthew Byrne
CUMBERLAND – On March 8,
Blackstone River Theatre presented
its last concert before the COVID-19
shutdown – Canada's Matthew Byrne.
The theater has remained closed and
organizers and patrons have missed
the very thing that defines Blackstone
River Theatre – live performance
and the interaction between artist and
audience, say organizers.
Executive Director Russell Gusetti
said it seemed only fitting that BRT's
first online concert offering would
bring their organization back to that
Sunday in March. Working with the
artist's management team, Blackstone
River Theatre will present award-
winning traditional singer and gui-
tarist Matthew Byrne for a special
YouTube live-streamed performance
on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m.
Interested viewers should visit www.
riverfolk.org or tickets are available
through Byrne's website at https://
www.matthewbyrne.net/livestreams/
nov22 . Ticket-holders will receive
an exclusive link to the livestream.
Tickets are $20 CAD, which equals
$15 U.S.
This show is part of a very unique
digital "tour" that Byrne is doing
through the last week of November
where he'll be performing for audi-
ences from California to the U.K.
Blackstone River Theatre will be his
only New England-sponsored concert,
though people worldwide can view
the livestream. To make the show
as personal as possible, Gusetti is
encouraging fans to send requests and
questions for Byrne ahead of time, to
russell@riverfolk.org to make this per-
formance as unique and interactive as
possible.
Blackstone River Theatre will present award-winning traditional singer and guitarist
MATTHEW BYRNE for a special YouTube live-streamed performance on Sunday,
Nov. 22, at 7 p.m.
