Three Democrats take aim at Senate 15 seat By ETHAN SHOREY Valley Breeze Editor See SENATE 15, Page 12 PAWTUCKET – City resi- dents Pamela Gordon, Dr. Lagina Bickham, and Loretta Bickham Talbot have attracted plenty of curi- osity as they've taken their new act on the road, getting plenty of com- pliments on how they're cheering people up. The three friends, two of them sis- ters, say they love their state and are making the most of this pandemic "with elegance and sophisticated social distancing." What that means is fairly simple, but takes lots of work: The three set up coordinating sets to match their clothing at various locations around the state. Once at a location, they have conversations with each other and those passing by, all as onlook- ers take pictures. "We took Gov. Raimondo's advice and decided to be creative out- doors," said Bickham Talbot. All three live in Pawtucket, and Bickham and Bickham Talbot are sisters. Bickham Talbot said the three were tired of being stuck at home, and when Raimondo recently urged everyone to get outside and be creative with it, they began to brainstorm what they could do with a flair. About six weeks ago, they ordered chairs, rugs, coolers, nail polish and other items to create their scene and then got to work. "We each have a color. Mine is orange, my sister's is yellow, and Pam's is turquoise," said Bickham Talbot. "It's just so pretty." They also have matching flowers and lots of jewelry to match their outfits. "Everything is matching," said Bickham Talbot. "There's a lot of bling. We like bling." The three were at the Providence pedestrian bridge a week ago this past Sunday and have been to Newport a couple of times. "So many people want to take pictures and want to know what we're doing," said Bickham Talbot. Many are asking if they're singers or some other celebrities, she said, but they're just normal people.
