EAST PROVIDENCE – The East Providence Arts Council's annual arts festival is going on tour this summer, bringing visitors outside the studios of local artists, many of which are located at their homes. Looff On Tour, described as "a little bit outdoor art festival, a little bit open studio tour," will take place on Saturday, Aug. 8, from noon to 6 p.m. at various sites around East Providence. Maps detailing specific locations will be available online and at spots around the city, organizers said. Rick Lawson, chairman of the EPAC, said the event is a great opportunity for folks to get out of the house and see parts of East Providence they maybe haven't seen as well as "check out some really, really cool artwork." "It exposes the community to these artists in a more personal setting," he said. "It's just a great community event. East Providence is an amazing place." Her new film "The Old Guard" has been playing on Netflix a couple of weeks and while it's not nearly as fantastic as "Atomic Blonde" or her awesome performance in 2015's "Fury Road," it's an acceptable way to throw away two hours. The film tells the tale of Theron's Andy, an immortal woman who leads a team of four with similar powers. They are mercenaries for hire but only for jobs they deem acceptable to their cause. It's not completely clear if they're like the "A-Team" or the "Equalizer" but they've got a moral code for the work they do. A former CIA operative and busi- ness associate, Copley (Chiwetel Ejiofor), requests them to rescue some kidnapped students but double-cross- es them and sets into motion a long and drawn-out eventual showdown against his boss. While Andy and her team are on the run, they must also contend with integrating a new immortal into their See GUARD, Page 15 www.valleybreeze.com/learning/ ONLINE LEARNING Find out more, call 401-334-9555 x134 • Career Building • Excel • Communication • PowerPoint • Digital Marketing • Women in Business • Entrepreneurship • Security Awareness Online Professional Development Jalette Contracting Proudly Built in America JC roofing/gutter installs Call for your free roof InspeCtIon today! all MIlItary & senIor dIsCounts Roger Jalette Jr. - U.S. War Veteran - Roof Inspector - Quonset ANG Base - Over 30 years experience - College Certified Roofing Education fully licensed and Insured (Inc.
