Look for May opening of Lincoln library addition By MEGHAN KAVANAUGH Valley Breeze Staff Writer meghan@valleybreeze.com LINCOLN – The grand opening of the new Lincoln Public Library may be less than a month away, Director Becky Boragine said last week. The library's construction that has been going on since last spring is in the "final, finishing stage," she said, and is set to be done sometime in May. A $620,000, 2,300-squarefoot addition will soon be open, along with interior renovations, including a family bathroom. The construction itself is expected to be done by the end of April, Boragine said, but then library employees must set up the space, arranging desks and putting books back on shelves. "That's not going to be the quick part," she said. Rugs are now being installed, Boragine said. The new family bathroom floor has been tiled, and the new entrance is in place, though not usable yet. Once the doors finally open there, the existing entrance will become a reading space, Boragine said, adding that the glass walls will allow for much natural light. The circulation desk will also move from the existing front entrance to the new one.
