Paciorek announced his purchase of the property from Freedom National Bank over the weekend after closing on a sale Feb. 28. "This is going to be a labor of love," he said. A city resident, artist and contrac- tor, Paciorek said he lost his wife to illness about eight months ago and was looking for a new opportunity after running a gallery in Providence for many years. This sale will allow him to consolidate his living space in a move from Oak Hill and his gallery into one 6,300-square-foot building. In Pawtucket, he said, he sees some of the raw artistic energy that has been lost somewhat in Providence in recent years. Paciorek sells his art in 25 markets and told The Breeze during a tour of his new home that he plans to use the rare carriage house out back of what was previously known as the Grand Manor as a shipping area. The home will also house his per- manent collection, he said, as well as his art studio.
