Two hundred and seventy-five peo- ple attended the event, which paid tribute to the top offensive and defen- sive players from each of the 43 football-playing high schools in the state. Gridiron Club honors Shea, Tolman MVPs PYSA announces Board of Directors PAWTUCKET – The Pawtucket Youth Soccer Association recently conducted its elec- tions for its Board of Directors at its annual general meeting and paid tribute to outgoing club president Leo Lebeuf for his years of ser- vice and dedication to the PYSA. Freddy Nunes was elected as the new club president, and the rest of the Board of Directors will consist of Ana Desautel (vice president, recreation director), Jorge Garcia (competitive director), Maria Montalvan (treasurer), Olga Fernandes (registrar), Naomi Tirado (assistant registrar), Cristina Silva (pub- lic relations), and Norelys Consuegra (secre- tary). Also on the Board of Directors are Jen Fortune (concessions manager), Juan Montalvan (referee coordinator), Chris Bourassa (building manager), Jaime Ruffin (fundraising coordinator), Jayson Badillo (spon- sorship coordinator), Jonathan Montalvan (TOP soccer coordinator), Alex Fernandes (field manager), and Amanda Dodds (coaching education, equipment manager). The PAWTUCKET STORM U16 GIRLS' SOCCER TEAM was recently honored for capturing the R.I. Cup tourna- ment during the fall Superliga season. The Storm posted a 7-0 record that saw them outscore their opponents, 40-1. The members of the team are, in front from left, Jaylin Fernandes, Olivia Dutra, Ava Johnson, Victoria Bourassa, and Chloe Feit; in back, head coach Freddy Nunes, Holiday Horton, Laura Johnson, Adria Labossiere, Karen Johnson, Anaya Stephens, and assistant coach Wayde Labossiere. Carolina Valesquez, Alex Cullina, and Jalasia Green are also members of the team.
