FM Global has been the leader in property loss-prevention research for more than 175 years. Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Campus Maintenance Supervisor and with over- sight from the Systems Specialist in their discipline, works independently on assigned projects in all areas of operation and maintenance of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical and related equipment. This position will pro- vide critical primary support to two of the Campus's most important oper- ations: The Campus Wastewater Treatment Facility and the Air Emissions Control Systems in addition to the following: • Repairs, installs, and troubleshoots equipment and subsystems within their discipline of either electrical HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, or water treatment • Installs and maintains the control systems within their discipline • Programs the Building Control System according to needs and troubleshoots and repairs system software, hardware, and other related problems • Performs regularly scheduled tests to meet regulatory and/or FM Global' s requirements • Performs other special projects or duties as may be required such as assisting other departments with projects as needed • Performs minor housekeeping duties (i.e. organizing and cleaning work sites and shop areas relative to their discipline) • Assists in project reviews, planning, and documentation, supply inventorying and advises on purchasing • Up to 10% of time spent at computers Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent • Must possess a valid driver's license • Three plus years' experience (construction/maintenance) as a licensed practitioner in field or equivalent • Knowledge of controls • Ability to read design drawings, blueprints, and schematics • Heavy equipment operation • Proven interpersonal skills • Problem solving and judgement • Provide solutions and resolve issues in a timely and cost-effective manner • Able to troubleshoot equipment including work on computers and building control systems • Understand and prioritize work according to the strategic value of systems to the entire campus operation Grade and pay for this position will be commensurate with experience and skills of the candidate chosen.
