Veterans Day Parade Monday in Scituate SCITUATE – American Legion Post 19 will conduct a Veterans Day Parade on Monday, Nov. 11, at 10:30 a.m., at Danielson Pike/Institute Lane. The parade proceeds west on Danielson Pike through the vil- lage to Silk Lane and then to the Congregational church at Route 116/ Silk Lane. Immediately following the parade, there will be a Veterans Day cer- emony, including Vietnam War Commemoration pin recipients. Hope Library offers Lego Time SCITUATE – Hope Library, 374 North Road, will offer Lego Time on Saturdays, Nov. 9 and 23, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. This is an open Lego time for fami- lies with children ages 4 and older. Library offers November story times SCITUATE – Hope Library, 374 North Road, has announced its November story times. • Book Babies will be offered on Fridays, Nov. 8, 15, 22 and 29, at 10:30 a.m. This program is for babies, ages birth to 24 months, and a parent or caregiver. • Time for Twos will be offered on Fridays Nov. 8, 15, 22 and 29, at 11:15 a.m. This program is for children, age 2, and a parent or care- giver. • Preschool Story Time will be offered on Mondays, Nov. 18 and 25, at 10:30 a.m. This program is for children ages 3-5 and includes sto- ries, movement and a craft. Defensive driving course for seniors Tuesday SCITUATE – AAA will offer a free defensive driving course tailored to ages 55 and older at the Scituate Senior Center at Chopmist Hill, 1315 Chopmist Hill Road, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a complimentary lunch offered for senior center mem- bers. The lunch fee will be $4 for non-members. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a certificate of completion entitling them to a dis- count on automobile insurance.
