NP boys' soccer team falls to EWG in D-III quarters EXETER – The North Providence High boys' soccer team gave one of the Division III's top teams, Exeter/West Greenwich, a run for its money in last Friday afternoon's quarter- final round of the D-III playoffs. But the Scarlet Knights scored twice in the second half to break open a close contest and come away with a 6-2 victory. The 7th-seeded Cougars, who were making their first venture in the postseason since 2011, wrap up their season with a 7-8-1 mark. The 2nd-seeded Scarlet Knights, who are 14-2, will take on 3rd-seeded Toll Gate in Thursday's 5:30 p.m. semifinals in Cumberland, with top-seeded St. Raphael Academy and 5th-seeded Scituate facing each other in the other semifinal at 7:30 p.m. In last Friday's loss, the Cougars were done in by EWG striker Cian Purcell, who scored five goals to increase his seasonal total to 34. Purcell also scored three times in the Scarlet Knights' 5-0 regular-season victory over NP three weeks ago. NP senior captain Dylan Auslander netted his team-high 18th and 19th goals of the sea- son, both unassisted, in the first half. NP goal- keepers Oreoluwa Omelke and Alex Carvalho also teamed up to stop a dozen shots, as EWG outshot NP by an 18-11 margin. I NEED A KIDNEY Blood Types "A" or "O" Can you please help me?
