Council President Kristen Catanzaro has been joined by Councilors John Lynch, William Warren, and AUTIELLO Dino Autiello in pushing for a thorough inspection by an unbiased third party. Under normal circumstances, I would not support spending taxpayer dollars on hiring an outside expert to tell us what we already know, that our roads are in terrible condition, said Autiello in an e-mail statement. However, because this is consistent with the process followed by other cities and towns to ensure a fair analysis of our roadways, I will support bringing in an outside expert. Those who favor an indepth review say that Mayor See ROADS, Page 15 I dont know why everyone is so afraid of it, says Lynch By ETHAN SHOREY Breeze Staff Writer ethan@valleybreeze.com BREEZE PHOTO BY DAVID WUERTH Eamonn Ward, 2, of North Providence, takes off in pursuit of Easter eggs at the East Smithfield Public Library on Saturday. The idea for a whistleblower system is not that complex, said Lynch, and has operated with success in many other communities. I dont know why everyone is so afraid of it, he said.
