SMITHFIELD SCITUATE FOSTER GLOCESTER EDITION | VALLEY BREEZE & OBSERVER | JULY 3-10, 2019 REAL ESTATE 11 Turn-of-the-century colonial for sale in Woonsocket WOONSOCKET – Originally built in 1900, this colonial has been completely updated and is move-in ready. "The extraordinary thing, usually in homes of that era, they require a certain amount of maintenance, but everything in it has been updated," Crossroads Real Estate Group list- ing agent Robert Martin said. "The owners have kept the character of the house." The front yard is beautifully land- scaped and there is a walkway from the sidewalk leading to the front entrance which features a wrap- around porch. "I love the big wraparound porch," Martin said. "I can picture a rocker on it." Martin added, "The condition and architecture of the house is just out- standing." The driveway is on the left side of the house near the porch. The detached, two-car garage is in the back and Martin said it is basically brand new, having been rebuilt recently. The house features eight rooms with 7- to 9-foot-high ceilings. All four bedrooms are on the second level but there is an office on the first level that could be converted into a fifth bedroom, as there is a closet, Martin said. There are two full baths, one on the first floor and one on the second. And there is a full, unfinished basement. The first floor offers a little mud room off of the side entrance, an office, a full bath, two living rooms, a formal dining room and an eat- in, gourmet kitchen. The kitchen, like the rest of the house, has been updated. It has Corian countertops, stainless appliances and a center island. "It's a beautiful kitchen," Martin said. The formal dining room is off of the kitchen where there is a built-in hutch with a glass front. All of the original wainscoting is still intact as well. The hardwood floors, that go almost throughout the house, have also been refinished. The bathroom on the second level is spacious with a soaking Jacuzzi tub, double granite vanity, a sepa- rate shower and skylight adding natural light. The upstairs features all hardwood floors, except for the bathroom. This colonial sits on 0.45 acres. There are underground sprinklers throughout. "This property is locat- ed on a very quiet street," Martin said. Inside, there is 2,184 square feet of living space. "This property is similar to houses in the North End of Woonsocket," Martin said. "It has the same archi- tecture made in the same era but a little smaller in size." He added, "This home is just very functional." The house is listed at $399,900. It will be shown by appointment only. For more information, contact Martin at the office, 401-766-7545, ext. 111, or by cell at 401-474-3556.
