KELSIE CROUGH, tenth in her class and daughter of Brad and Julie Crough, was an active part of Smithfield High School by participating in "The Little Mermaid," the literary magazine, girls' soccer, swimming, track and field, and cross-country. This fall, she will attend Lesley University and major in creative writing. CROUGH TOP TEN From Page 15 Greenville Library hosts book clubs SMITHFIELD – Greenville Public Library, 573 Putnam Pike, will host its Novel Bunch Book Club on Thursday, June 13, at 6:30 p.m. The group will discuss "The Red Thread," by Ann Hood. The Picnic Table Reads Book Club will be reading "The Escape Artist," by Brad Meltzer, and will meet on Thursday, June 20, at 1 p.m. For more information, call the library at 401-949-3630. Approximately 40 runners, including members of the Glocester police and fire departments and students from Ponaganset Middle and High Schools, took part in the 2019 SPECIAL OLYMPICS TORCH RUN last Friday. The Torch Run is designed to cre- ate public awareness and raise funds for Special Olympics Rhode Island. After start- ing at St. Eugene's Church in Chepachet, the runners enter the roundabout at Route 44 and Route 102. The runners arrive at Powder Mill Creamery where Glocester Police Chief JOSEPH DELPRETE passes the torch to Smithfield firefighter MICHAEL BENEDETTI for the next leg of the run.
