WARWICK – David Belisle and Brian Boucher, whose names are syn- onymous with the longtime success of the Mount Saint Charles Academy boys' hockey team, and former North Smithfield High basketball standout Linda Cimino will be inducted into the R.I. Interscholastic League's High School Athletic Hall of Fame's Class of 2019. The RIIL will honors the distin- guished athletes, coaches, officials, administrators, and journalist in this year's class on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick. Ticket information will be made available in the coming weeks. After enjoying his own All-State hockey career at Mount Saint Charles in the 1970s, Belisle returned to coach at his alma mater. Over the next 39 years, either as the assistant coach or as a co-head coach with his father, Bill, Belisle helped guide the Mounties to 32 state championships, including 26 straight from 1978-2003. Boucher, who played 13 seasons in the NHL before becoming a televi- sion analyst for NBC Sports, estab- lished himself as one of the best goal- tenders ever to play for the Mounties. He backstopped the Mounties to their 29th state championship in 1994. Cimino, who gradu- ated from N.S. in 1997 after becoming the girls' basketball team's all-time lead- ing scorer with 1,224 points, went on to enjoy a record-setting basketball career at Adelphi University. Cimino has also been a college women's basketball coach for the last 13 years, and she recently wrapped up her first season leading Division I St. Francis College of the Northeast Conference. The rest of the class includes former Bishop Hendricken and NFL foot- ball player Will Blackmon, former Barrington boys' soccer coach Ed Bradley, longtime coach and official Jerry Dandeneau, and the late Bill Falk, who was a nationally-respected pole vault mentor, as well as a cross country and track and field coach. Also in the class are former Providence Journal sportswriter John Gillooly, former Cranston East three- sport athlete David Harrington, long- time football, cross country and track coach Robert Littlefield, and Chelsea Marandola, who played basketball for Johnston High in the early 2000s and became the all-time leading scorer among R.I. high school female basket- ball players with 2,631 career points. Former Barrington head football coach Bill McCagney and East Greenwich field hockey coach Deb McMullen, who were also standout athletes at their respective schools, and former Toll Gate gymnastics coach Richard Stapleton round out the class.
