20 PAWTUCKET MAY 15-21, 2019 | VALLEY BREEZE | PAWTUCKET EDITION McCoy RFP, Apex redevelopment in holding pattern Pawtucket Hall of Fame Committee seeks nominations PAWTUCKET – State and local officials are conducting preliminary discussions to review plans from six bidders on the reuse of McCoy Stadium and surrounding areas, including meetings and conference calls. Officials are working to establish a process and timeline for review. "Understanding the magnitude of what these plans could mean for Pawtucket and the Blackstone Valley, we are working diligently to ensure we make the right decisions for our community," said Wilder Arboleda, spokesman for Mayor Donald Grebien. "While no hard timeline has been established, as this process is about getting it right, we still hope to have projects designated by this fall." On the separate and longstanding matter of kickstarting redevelopment of the nearby Apex site, Arboleda said officials have continued meet- ing with the owners on potential options. "The goal for the city continues to be bringing a life center to the downtown and gateway riverway as it will best serve our community," he said. "The Apex developers are cur- rently in conversation with potential options that would help to revitalize our city." He said there are no additional updates right now due to the sensi- tive nature of the potential tenants that the developer is in conversa- tions with. "We hope to provide updates within the near future," he said. PAWTUCKET – The Pawtucket Hall of Fame Committee is seeking nominations for the 2019 Pawtucket Hall of Fame.
