Tillinghast has spared no detail as he's built out his new boxing busi- ness. He said it will be quite a sight for passing drivers to look in through the glass windows to see an actual boxing ring in the shadow of where Rocky Marciano once fought across the street. "It's a throwback," he says of his idea to develop a boxing gym at 2051 Smith St., in a space previously occu- pied by a small workout gym. "It's about to be legendary." Tillinghast and Dean Antonelli are co-owners of the new gym, with a grand opening planned for Saturday, May 18, starting at noon. Patriots cheerleaders will be on hand that day as part of the celebration, a free, community-wide event featuring a ceremonial ribbon-cutting along with giveaways, activities, demonstrations and more.
