(Hanks) McCarthy- Cadorette, 87, of Lincoln passed away Jan. 31 at home sur- rounded by her lov- ing family. She was the wife of the late John L. McCarthy and the late Eugene A. Cadorette. Born in Cranston, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Agnes (Herard) Hanks. She resided in Lincoln for the past 13 years, pre- viously residing in Cumberland. Mrs. Cadorette was employed as an office manager for Dr. Cynthia Feinstein in Johnston for seven years, retiring in 1998. She also worked as an office manager for Dr. Charles Johnson in Pawtucket for many years. Claire was a communicant of St. Jude Church and member of the Third Order of Carmelite and was involved in the St. Jude Church SPRed program. She leaves her son, John K. McCarthy of Johnston; her daugh- ters, Maureen R. Hamilton of Lincoln, and Erin C. McCarthy of Providence; her four grandchildren, Amy West, Lauren Pringle, Michael K. McCarthy and Stephanie L. McCarthy; her seven great-grandchil- dren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Sheila A. Morello and the late Catherine F. McCarthy and the sister of the late Donald J. Hanks. Claire's Life Celebration was held with visiting hours on Feb. 4 and continued on Feb. 5, in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Route 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the St. Jude Church, Front Street, Lincoln. Burial followed in the R.I. Veteran Cemetery, Exeter. WOONSOCKET – Gianna Marie Paul, of North Smithfield, a 2018 honors graduate from North Smithfield High School, captured the crown and title of the new reign- ing 2019 Miss Teen Rhode Island North America on Jan. 13, at the Stadium Theatre. Paul, 18, won the top title along with winning the Humanitarian and Spirit Awards. She also received the award for acquiring the most spon- sors. Gianna's platform is helping to spread the word and share her life- time experience about breast cancer awareness. A close family member of hers was diagnosed with breast cancer. During Gianna's reign in 2019, she will be going to New York City for a personal photo shoot and will be making several guest appearances throughout the year supporting and championing breast cancer aware- ness. She will be represent- ing Rhode Island for the national title in Kissimmee, Fla., in June. Gianna is cur- rently attend- ing CCRI and wants to pursue her education in the field of diagnostic medi- cal sonography. She is the daughter of William and Patricia Paul.
