"This property is unique in that it is situated on 109 acres, which is unheard of in North Smithfield," Martha Lapierre, the listing agent from Residential Properties, said. HOME OF THE WEEK 956 Old Smithfield Road, North Smithfield OFFERED BY: Residential Properties Ltd. Martha Lapierre, listing agent MLS NUMBER 72410474 By KAYLA PANU Valley Breeze Staff Writer "Usually beautifully restored antique homes are on no more than 5-10 acres. This property is charming, detailed and majestic." Known as the South Run Farm the property boasts two barns, four stalls and what was once a chicken coop but is now a 300-square-foot detached studio or office building. That structure is heated with lots of windows and looks out onto the vinyl inground pool that is not only fenced in but surrounded by a rock wall. The property is in the National See FARMHOUSE, Page 7 WOONSOCKET – Marshall Charloff says the Purple Xperience is a tribute to Prince, not an imperson- ation. The show, said the group's lead singer and guitarist, tries to channel Prince's excellence of musicianship first. "The spirit of Prince is definitely there. This comes from a place of authenticity, comes off respectful," he says. The show will be performed at the Stadium Theatre in Woonsocket on Dec. 28. Purple Xperience kicked off in 2011, when Charloff was asked to do a benefit concert at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. "Growing up in Minnesota, (Prince) was in the fiber of existence," he said. It was sup- posed to be one performance only, but when it was over, the members of the group asked each other, "Do you want to keep doing this?" Charloff has been performing since junior high, seeing it at that time as a way to meet girls. "There was a talent show in the gym, a gong show," he said. One of the performers was a boy from his math class. "The girls were screaming for him. I thought, that's it. I didn't play before that, but I went out and Prince tribute show an authentic 'Xperience' By FRANK O'DONNELL Valley Breeze Entertainment Writer See PURPLE, Page 6 TIMBER TREE SERVICE, INC. 24 Hour Emergency Tree Removal Bobcat Services Bobcat Services Firewood Bobcat Services Trimming 65 Ton & 45 Ton Cranes Available FREE ESTIMATES At the Holiday Season, Our thoughts turn gratefully to those who have made our progress possible.
