CUMBERLAND – Local leaders last week approved a new ordinance regulating how tow companies oper- ate on behalf of the town and its Police Department, but not before making changes they say protect public safety and strong service in the town. In a Nov. 7 hearing that grew combative at times between Council President Peter Bradley and those councilors who questioned his proposal, the council ultimately approved several amendments proposed by Councilor Scott Schmitt. "The truth is, some I don't know," he said. Asked if there are any employees he has a negative feeling about and knows he can't work with, Mutter said no.
