SMITHFIELD SCITUATE FOSTER GLOCESTER | VALLEY BREEZE & OBSERVER | NOVEMBER 7-13, 2018 ELECTION 2018 9 New blood on Glocester council, School Committee GLOCESTER – In a nine-person race for the five-seat Town Council in Glocester, all four incumbents running for re-election came out on top. Council President George "Buster" O. Steere, and council members Walter M. O. Steere, III, Patricia Henry, and William Reichert will return for another two-year term. Julian Forgue will take the fifth seat on the council. In the non-partisan School Committee race, two of the three incumbents were re-relected. Cynthia Joyce and Walter M. O. Steere Jr. will return for another term on the School Committee. Melissa Worthy will take over Mary Ann Carroll's seat, defeating the incumbent by more than 150 votes. TOWN COUNCIL George O. Steere, Jr - Republican – 2262 votes Walter M. O. Steere, III – Republican – 2220 Julian Forgue - Republican – 2,082 Patricia Henry - Repubican – 2,043 William Reichert - Indpendent – 2,002 Michael DeGrange - Republican – 1,829 Linda Nichols - Democrat – 1,813 Michelle Allen - Independent – 1,770 William Worthy - Independent – 1,769 SCHOOL COMMITTEE Cynthia Joyce – 2,474 votes Walter M. O. Steere Jr., – 2,342 Melissa Worthy – 2, 253 Mary Ann Carroll – 2,080 James Houghton – 1,093 Two new members added to the Foster Town Council FOSTER – Five candidates won a spot on the Foster Town Council Tuesday after a 10-candi- date race. Incumbents Cheryl Hawes, Denise DiFranco, and Christie Stone will return for another two-year term. Newcomer Joseph Cardillo will join as well. Heidi Rogers will take over for her husband, Town Council member Gordon Rogers, who won the District 21 Senate seat Tuesday. For town sergeant, Michael Coggeshall, Democrat, beat Erasmo Torres, a Republican.
