8 SENIORS NOVEMBER 7-13, 2018 | VALLEY BREEZE | NORTH PROVIDENCE EDITION Mancini Center will host Fall Fling Nov. 15; writing group Nov. 16 NORTH PROVIDENCE – The North Providence Mancini Center, 2 Atlantic Blvd., announces the follow- ing programs. Blood pressure screening will be offered on Wednesday, Nov. 14, and Thursdays, Nov. 15 and 29, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The URI Pharmacy Outreach Program will at the center on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. to discuss and an overview of the signs and symptoms of diabetes, pre-diabetes, and heredity and lifestyle risk fac- tors. There will also be a review of the management of hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, diabetes medications and some new technology available to diabetics. Sue Silva of Golden Crest will host a bingo event on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 10:30 a.m. A Fall Fling Dine and Dance event will be held Thursday, Nov. 15, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Food will be pro- vided by Mickey G's. Tickets are $10 per person and must be purchased by Friday, Nov. 9. The center reminds seniors that the dates of the open enrollment period for the 2019 benefit year will end on Dec. 7. Those wishing to review options or change plans, must do so during this open enrollment period. Changes will become effective Jan. 1, 2019. Barbara is a long-time Rhode Island resident and the Author of "Have Mercy". Autographed Copies of Have Mercy will be available at this event. Dr. Elgabry, of Ocean State Cardiovascular & Vein Center is available on Fridays from 1:00 pm to 4:00 p.m. for consultations and appointments. Industrial Revolution Quilt Guild meets Nov. 14 PAWTUCKET – A meeting of the Industrial Revolution Quilt Guild will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Smithfield Avenue Congregational Church, 514 Smithfield Ave. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the doors will open at 6. Guest for the evening will be Louise Pankiewicz who will give a presenta- tion on making a "Quilt in a Day." She will also have items related to her presentation for sale.
