Pawtucket Edition Sports & Recreation valleybreeze.com @ OCTOBER 10-16, 2018 WARWICK – The Tolman High football team did its part to set up this weekend's Division III battle of unbeatens with neighbor- ing Central Falls by rolling to a 42-18 victory last Friday night on the road over Pilgrim. The Tigers (3-0 in D-III play) and Warriors (4-0) will collide on the gridiron for the first time in several seasons on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Central Falls' Homecoming game at Max Read Field. Local high school fans hope that this showdown is a preview of next month's Super Bowl. "It's a big game," Tolman head coach Jason DeLawrence added. "Tolman and C.F. are right there next to each other. A lot of these kids played for the C.F. Panthers or against them, so they know each other. It's going to be big for (the area)." Last Friday's victory marked the third straight time the Tigers scored 40 or more points. They put up 30 in the first half alone and saw quarterback Justin Klemanchuck begin the game by throwing a 48-yard touchdown pass to Daniel Akinsheye and then taking off for a 44-yard touchdown run to help the Tigers grab a 14-0 lead. The Patriots got on the board with 27.5 seconds left in the first quarter on an 11-yard run by quarterback Michael Borges, but with less than three minutes to go in the second quarter, Klemanchuck scored another touchdown, this one for 99 yards on a third-and-10 keeper. The Patriots quickly responded with a touchdown, and with less than a minute left in the half, they tried to trick the Tigers with an onside kick. But Tolman's Sulayman Faal recovered it and Tolman pummels Pilgrim Huge game Saturday at Max Read Field: Football team clashes with Central Falls in D-III's battle of unbeatens By KAYLA PANU Valley Breeze Sports Writer kayla@valleybreeze.com BREEZE PHOTO BY KAYLA PANU Tolman senior quarterback JUSTIN KLEMANCHUCK threw two touchdown passes, totaled 143 yards on two touchdown runs, and threw a pair of two-point conversion passes in last Friday night's victory.
