Pawtucket Edition Sports & Recreation @ JULY 11-17, 2018 Boisclair leads Post 10 into battle At 20, former SRA player is state's youngest American Legion manager By KAYLA PANU Valley Breeze Sports Writer WEST WARWICK – After playing in his final season in the American Legion's Senior Division last year, former St. Raphael Academy stand- out Dylan Boisclair thought that, at the age of 20, he still had some more to give to his ballclub, Riverside Post 10/Collette Travel. And this summer, Boisclair is doing just that, serving as the team's manager and leading Post 10 to a 3-5 record at the midway point of its schedule that, entering Tuesday's action, was good for fifth place in the nine-team division. "I've been on Collette for six years," Boisclair, a 2016 graduate of SRA, said last Thursday night. "At the end of last year, our manager, Kevin Lethbridge, hinted at the pos- sibility (of taking over the team) to me. During the offseason, we were in contact with each other, and this year, we just made it happen." Boisclair played for Collette when it won the state champion- ship in 2014. From there, Collette had morphed into Riverside Post 10/Collette Travel, combing the Pawtucket players with players from East Providence and Riverside, as well as other surrounding towns. They have three "home" fields, play- ing at Pierce Field in East Providence and at Vets Park and Slater Park in Pawtucket. "It's good to switch it up a little bit and stay fresh," Boisclair said about the different home fields. Post 10 has 17 players on its ros- ter, but like other summer teams, not all 17 are always available. Last Thursday night, they had 11 in a doubleheader against West Warwick Post 2 at McCarthy Field. It was another scorcher with temps in the 90s and the humidity all the way up, but Post 10 won the opening game, 14-6, before dropping the second, 15-5. Boisclair said that this summer's team is pretty balanced, with most of the players from SRA and a good group from East Providence. Before graduating high school, Jared Schott, who is back for his sixth and final BREEZE PHOTOS BY KAYLA PANU Above, Post 10 third baseman BRENDEN ALDRIDGE stretches out to make a tough catch on a foul ball for the second out of the first inning of last Thursday night's 14-6 victory over West Warwick Post 2 at McCarthy Field. Right, after spending the past six seasons as a player, former St. Raphael Academy standout DYLAN BOISCLAIR is now the manager of Riverside Post 10/Collette Travel.
